Welcome to Day 1 of the CrossFit U Online Home Course

Awesome for you and well done for beginning your crossfit journey. Over the next few days we’re going to be taking you through the basic principles of CrossFits, and providing you with workouts that you can perform at home. The truth is anyone can do CrossFit, but like most things, It’s going to be challenging but even though your home your definitely not alone, so call us, email us or come down to the gym and hassle us 😃 we are here for you and to help you begin this journey to better health and fitness goals.

Our first lesson will be taking you through the Air Squat,  learning how to Squat will help keep your Ankle, Knees, and Hips healthy into old age. Not to mention, its a compound movement which uses lots of muscles. Which means you’ll use more energy in less time! It’s very efficient.

To begin the Air Squat – You initiate the movement by sending your hips backs, when you hips are below your knees you stand back up. We want to make sure we’re training your full range motion. Make sure that your knees are tracking over your toes, and you maintain a nice flat back throughout the movement.

Todays Workout Is Simple – its called Tabata Air Squats. Tabata is named after its inventor – Professor Tabata, who found that athletes who participated in a high-intensity interval training, had greater athletic improvements then another group that just did moderate exercise. That’s right, Train Smarter , not longer ! You don’t’ need to spend hours at the gym!

Today’s workout will last for 4 Minutes. You will do as many air squats as you can for 20 seconds, and then rest for 10 Seconds. This will last for a total of 8 Rounds.
